The rules for using ExitFounder: the public database, founder accounts, verification, listings, sponsorship, comments and the API.

1. What ExitFounder is

ExitFounder is a database of internet businesses. Profiles are created from publicly available information (a company's official website, public metrics providers) before a founder signs up, and can then be claimed, corrected and verified by the people who run those businesses. Every value on the site carries a provenance label: Verified, Estimated, Reported or From website.

2. Accounts

You need an account to claim a startup, upvote, comment or use founder tools. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. One person, one account; automated account creation is not allowed.

3. Claims and verification

Claiming a profile means proving you control the company domain (DNS record, meta tag or verification file) or being approved by our review. A verified claim makes you the profile owner: you can edit content, connect providers and manage members. Verified badges are earned by proof, never by payment. If we find a claim was fraudulent we remove it and may close the account.

4. Content you provide

You keep ownership of text, images and data you submit, and grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display and distribute it on the site, in feeds, in the API, in Markdown twins and to AI assistants. Do not submit content you do not have the rights to, content that is false, or content that impersonates someone else. Comments must be civil and must not contain links.

5. Data from third parties

Estimated traffic, Domain Rating (by Ahrefs), performance scores and similar metrics come from third-party providers and are labelled as estimates. We do not guarantee their accuracy. Revenue is shown as Verified only when it is read from a payment provider the owner connected.

6. Paid services

Premium listings, sponsorship placements and done-for-you directory submissions are one-time purchases unless stated otherwise at checkout. Prices are in USD. See the Refund & cancellation policy for what happens if we cannot deliver.

7. API, Markdown twins and AI use

Public read endpoints, Markdown twins, llms.txt and the MCP server may be used to answer questions about companies in the database with attribution ("Source: ExitFounder"). Bulk republication, rebuilding the directory, or generating SEO pages from our data is not permitted. Rate limits apply. Domain Rating values must be attributed to Ahrefs.

8. Acceptable use

No scraping beyond the documented endpoints and rate limits.
No vote manipulation, fake accounts or paid upvotes.
No spam, malware, phishing or content that infringes others' rights.
No attempts to access other users' data or the private schema.

9. Removal requests

If a profile about your company or a founder page about you contains errors, claim it and correct it. If you want a profile removed entirely, write to hello@exitfounder.io from an address on the company domain; we remove within 7 days unless the information is required to be kept by law.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided as is. We are not a broker, adviser or party to any acquisition, and nothing on the site is investment advice. To the extent permitted by law our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
